MacGyver aired on ABC from September 1985 through May 1992 and included 139 episodes over 7 seasons.

More action/adventure than mystery (though suspense was introduced into every episode), the series starred Richard Dean Anderson as the title character. (Early episodes started with a short "opening gambit" that illustrated MacGyver's unique talents in creating useful tools out of everyday items.)
