Hill Street Blues
aired on NBC from January 1981 through May 1987 and
included 146 episodes over 7 seasons. The crime drama often intertwined
several storylines some of which spanned multiple episodes. Though a
specific location was never mentioned, Hill Street Blues is thought to
have been situated a northeastern or midwestern city.
The series
had a large number of cast changes during its run, but there were
several characters that appeared in all 7 seasons including Daniel J.
Travanti as Captain Francis (Frank) Furillo, Veronica Hamel as public
defender Joyce Davenport, and James B. Sikking as SWAT team commander
Lt. Howard Hunter.
