B. L. Stryker

Burt Reynolds played B. L. (Buddy Lee) Stryker, a private investigator that lived on a boat docked off the coast of southern Florida. The series also starred Rita Moreno as Stryker's ex-wife and Ossie Davis, a former boxer and Stryker's frequent partner in solving crimes.

When Columbo returned to network television on ABC in 1989, it was one of several rotating mystery movies that included B. L. Stryker as well as several others (Kojak, Gideon Oliver, and Christine Cromwell), but the concept only lasted 2 seasons. B. L. Stryker aired 5 episodes in its first season from February through May 1989 and 7 more episodes from November 1989 through May 1990.
